Helsinki Process : Round Tables :  Introduction :

Round Tables

The Round Tables sought to answer the call by the Helsinki Group and the Helsinki Conference for continued multi-stakeholder dialogue. Following the recommendation of the Helsinki Group, the Round Tables provide an equal and inclusive multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue on topics falling under the overall themes of peace and security, poverty and development, human rights, governance, and the environment.

The Round Tables examined issues which needed to be urgently tackled, were not being sufficiently addressed elsewhere, and stood to benefit from multi-stakeholder cooperation. The overall aim of the Round Tables was to translate multi-stakeholder dialogue into multi-stakeholder action by devising concrete action plans addressing selected issues.
